Travelling to London by Taxi
There is usually a taxi rank with taxicabs queuing for customers opposite the passenger terminal next to the railway station. The airport recommends using their local firm of Andrews Taxis. Be advised to ask taxi driver before hand for estimated fare price.
Journey time is around 1.15hrs (depending on time of the day).
Travelling to London by Train
One of the quickest and smoothest ways to travel to centre of London from Southend Airport is via train. With up to five services an hour during peak times, and easy connections to the tube network, you’ll be in London centre under an hour and even quicker to Stratford.
Journey Times:
To/from London Liverpool Street Station: 52 minutes
To/from Stratford Station: 44 minutes
Off-peak single fares start at £13.60 to Stratford and £16.70 to Liverpool Street, and can purchase tickets at the stop.
Travelling to London by Coach/Bus
National Express operate a night coach which leaves at 23:45, arriving into Victoria Coach Station (via Stratford and London Liverpool Street Station) at 01:25. It also departs from London Victoria Coach Station at 03:15 and arrives at London Southend Airport at 05:10.
The First Group X30 coach runs frequent daily services between London Southend Airport and London Stansted Airport via Chelmsford. Coaches run approximately every 30 minutes.
